Admission for Transfer Student

I think almost everyone that has applied for fall transfer is still on step 3.

another day…haizzzzzzzz

I just registered for the May conference and it said “Mandatory Math Assessment Test – Freshmen Only.”

So transfers don’t take the test.

yayuh!!!..thats what Im talking about

Orsche, when they reply could you please post that? I am concerned for internally transferring between engineering degrees. If anybody else knows anything on that please post. Thanks.

Outcast19, gladly. The last time I emailed an adviser, it took me 2 months to get a reply back; so I will call them at the end of the week if I do not receive a reply by then.

Sounds good! Yeah it took me about 2 weeks to get a reply out of them the last time I emailed them…

For anyone that applied to me decisions will be made this friday or monday of next week. I was also told that they would be posted online shortly thereafter and that they had alot of applicants this year.

i applied to the school of mechanical engineering but I dont know what my chances are since i only had 24 hours at the time of deadline…

Has anyone heard from Mays? I called monday and admissions said they dont know when Mays will make decisions.

Not that I know of. Still step 3 - Mays.

Outcast, this is what I received today from Dr. Fidel Fernandez:

"In regards to your question below, transfer students must remain in the major in which they were admitted through that first semester. This means that students must enroll in courses in the curriculum in which they were admitted. In your case, you must take courses in the biology curriculum. Additionally, you will not be eligible to change majors until after one semester in biology. Furthermore, transfer students will not be allowed to change majors at their New Student Conference. Finally, students who do not follow their curriculum will have a hold placed on their records and registration.

You have two options: a) in the fall semester, take courses in the biology curriculum (minus ENGR 111, which is a course in the Engineering curriculum), b) do not matriculate in the fall semester and instead reapply for admission into BMEN once you have completed all your transfer admission requirements."

I really have to think about what I’m going to do, then.

Can you take accounting 229 if you are not a Business major?
The course is listed in the “Change of Curriculum” page from Mays.

[Mays Business School | Change of Curriculum Information](http://mays.tamu.edu/upo/change-curriculum-information/)

But when I look up classes in howdy, it says “BUSINESS & AGRIBUSINESS MAJORS ONLY”

Any idea?

Thanks Orsche, that might mess me up a bit too. Maybe I’ll just spend a semester doing CBK’s instead of rushing to do it all during summer school. I wonder if you take a summer semester @ A&M if that would count towards the one semester restriction.

I have heard of this one semester restriction before. When I talked to an a&m advisor she made it seem like this doesnt really happen. She told me I could switch to general studies before Fall semester even started

is anybody still on step 3? i’m kind of worried. a girl i know transfered via tapp and she got her acceptance letter monday.
is it mid may that we’re supposed to find out?

tapp is an automatic transfer admission if she had fufilled her end of the tapp agreement. Don’t let her acceptance letter worry you.

i was going to do that with my interdisciplinary studies major, but i didn’t know how to go about it. i figured they take tapp applicants first since they’re guaranteed admission and then the rest of us find out after?
i’ve been searching for a board to discuss this and i’m so glad i came across this today! lol

im on step 3 also kristi

I got my acceptance letter on Tuesday…I dont know what TAPP is…I dont think that I was apart of that.
