Admission for Transfer Student

Message me on Yahoo IM…my handle is ‘cliffgoat’ I’m logged on at all times

emilygail313,
did you choose General Studies as your 2nd major?
Transfer students can’t choose it as their 1st…

OK I FIGURED OUT THE PARKING SITUATION. HOUSING IS FULL, THEREFORE I AM DOING LOT 100 on July 30! (apartments here we go)

There should be some good deals out there now since its getting close to the start of school. Check out Gateway, Zi Islander, or Aggie station as I liked those when I visited.

okay, just checked out the parking situation and apparently 100 is the place to park if you’re living in an apt (although it’s not an overnight parking lot)

i read online that the district apartments has a shuttle route, although i’m not sure if this is accurate info.

some of the nicer apartments do have shuttles; however, A&M does operate a bus system on and off campus…check out the routes at <a href=“Page Not Found”>Error; You may find it not even necessary to purchase a parking permit if the bus goes right by your apartment… Lot 100 is around Reed Arena which is on West Campus, so if the majority of your classes are not located on the west side of the campus you may want to look into another parking lot/garage. For example, if you are a Engineering major you might want to look into the North Side Garage. Here is a map with buildings, parking lots, and bus routes - [url=<a href=“Aggie Map - Texas A&M University”>http://campusmaps.tamu.edu/]Untitled Page/url

hey guys for anyone still waiting… did both of yalls majors change to G-studs today? mine did and I thought that was crazy apparently I didnt get into my intended major, and also I got an e-mail from the head blinn team guy saying that the g-studs dean was working on the applications and it was going to be VERY competitive this year… sucks!

hey htx12, my best friend said that her AIS went to step 4 but it also changed to g-studies. not sure if this helps or not!

Thanks for the response JT! Good to know the advisors can and will force us into classes we need.

They can’t force you into just any class. They can only force into classes within your department. So if you’re an engineering major and need XX science, they won’t be able to force you into the science class which is unfortunate.

I was just recently changed to step 4 on the AIS page. However most of you said that pretty much right after you found out you could log into Howdy and register for classes, However on my Howdy page its still the same. Does this mean I more than likely did not get accepted? The people that work on the AIS page said to wait for the letter to find out any more info so im just confused right now more than anything.

If your howdy has not changed within two days of being moved to step four then it doesn’t look good for you.

Meh, just looks like I have another year of Blinn then =/ Which isnt bad considering im saving money and Blinn is still a good 2 year school.

I didn’t mean to sound negative. My howdy didn’t change in May when I went to step 4. I was denied and told to send in my spring grades. This month, I was moved to step 4 again after reviewing my spring grades. I got all the registration stuff on my howdy page a day later.

hey guys so dont be worried about step 5 not popping up! mine is still on step 4 but i received my letter today and it was an acceptance! im guessing since it went to G-studs that has something to do with it not going to step 5 I dont know but the letter just said to contact an advisor regarding scheduling classes… and Mnaylor88 i know what you mean I was thinking dang another semester of Blinn TEAM but apparently not now

Has anyone ever switched to general studies after transferring to A&M?
I just got denied…who knows why.

I though you had already been accepted and attended the NSC mcalvellox?

From what I was told by the mechanical engineering advisers when I registered for classes you have to wait a semester before you change your major.

Yea, I have been accepted but not into business.
Tried to switch to general studies but got denied today.
Apparently you cannot take Acct 229 and 230, info and mgmt if you are in liberal arts…

Maybe you have too many credits to be placed in general studies. I think the limit is 30 credits or something.

So you been to orientation at UT yet ampzor? Are you getting a decent fall schedule. Eng 111 and eng 112 at a&m are pretty easy classes.
