Admission Getting Revoked?!

Hey guys,

I was recently accepted early decision to Wake Forest. In my letter they stated that they can revoke your admission if you don't show similar grades to what you have throughout high school. I am in NO danger of getting my admission revoked (and I don't plan to be because I want to get 4s or 5s on all my AP tests haha... knock on wood), but I have always wondered what they would deem as not showing similar grades (would that be like getting Cs if you have had A and Bs throughout high school or would it be like failing a class or two?)? Any input would be appreciated as I am somewhat curious about this!

Thanks!

Hi on another note, I was wondering if you could answer some questions for me. I just applied ED to Wake, and I was wondering:

1) How long did it take for you to get a response?
2) Did the acceptance arrive in an envelope? How big?
3) Did you interview on campus? How did it go?
4) What was the range of your test scores and grade point.

I really want to go to Wake, and know the next weeks are going to see really long. Let me know if you can answer any of my questions. Sorry to get off the point.

You have to fail in epic proportions. Okay not so much – but they’ve been in this business for a while…they know that particularly second semester of senior year, everyone slips. It’s not like getting a C or two. It’s like going from a 3.5 to a 2.0.

Most often it’s revoked when you don’t successfully complete your senior year.

that would be horrible if that happened to someone! of course, it looks like you would basically have to try to do bad in school haha

1.) I got my response in exactly 4 weeks. One of my friends who applied a few days after i got my response got his in 3 weeks flat. the average, according to their site, is 4-6 for ED apps.
2.) My acceptance arrived in a big envelope. It was a little bigger than a normal sized sheet of paper and just contained the acceptance letter, a deposit slip (which i sent in the next day), and a nice map of campus.
3.) I did interview on campus and I think it went very well.
4.) I had a 29 ACT and a 3.64 (i think) unweighted and a 3.75 weighted GPA. I will have taken 7 AP classes during HS (5 this year) so I think that might have helped as well.

What are your stats? Good luck and I hope to see you there next year!

Thanks for your response. I have about the same stats as you.

I am concerned about my interview I had on campus this summer. Did your friend’s interview go okay? I actually cried during my interview, obviously I am a girl. I thought I was really prepared and knew everything about Wake. The interviewer asked me a number of hypothetical questions and I cracked. After I cried, the interviewer backed off and was really nice. She actually gave me some tips on how to improve my application. I hope to see you next year also. I will let you know when I hear.

I think my friend had a good interview as well. He had a little lower GPA, but a 31 ACT. I am not sure how crying in your interview will impact their decision (hopefully not in a bad way), but you have to remember that the interview is not the only thing that they are evaluating you on! Maybe the crying showed them that you are very emotional in your responses (?), but I doubt that they would deny you based solely off of the interview! I think you should be fine. Good luck!

Thanks for your support. The interviewer said many people cry. I am really very articulate. I am in debate, VP of student council, played tennis for years with lots of pressure, I just felt like she was interrogating me. Anyway, I will let you know if I get in. I think we live in the same State. Hopefully we can have a get acquainted party if I get accepted. 4 to 6 weeks and counting!

jrtowels46, thanks for posting your stats. They’re very similar to my son’s, however he’s applying RD.

2010:
really? what school do you go to/where do you live?

DougBetsy:

no problem. Good luck to your son and I hope to see him there next year!

jr:
I sent you a private message. Let me know if you get it or not. This is new for me, so I am not sure if I did it correctly. Thanks for all of your advice and support! 4-6 weeks and counting!

I have a 3.78 unweighted and a 4.09 weighted and I applied ED to Wake. I’m also hoping that I can get in, but I was wondering whether you sent your ACT score of 29. I scored 30, so I wasn’t sure if i should have sent it or not.
