I have applied at Dalhousie, UOIT, Windsor and McMaster for MSc (Thesis) for fall 2019. Do you think I have a good chance for admission in any of these? Most importantly, what would you say are my chances to get assistantship?
Here is my profile: 7 years experience in Indian IT industry including 2 years onsite. I had 78% in undergrad and my TOEFL score is 108.
Your TOEFL is very good, and suggests that your English is just as strong as the many native English speakers who are applying.
You have applied to a good range of schools. McMaster is a very strong university, and is very highly competitive for computer science. Windsor will be a bit easier to get accepted to. Dalhousie is in the middle somewhere, but is still a very good university (we toured a few years back and I quite liked it – my daughter went with a smaller university in Canada). I don’t know much about UOIT.
I think that your work experience will be a big help also.
I do not know what the chances are for an assistantship for an international student.
