Admission into Columbia?

Hi, I’m a college paranoid Freshman. And because I’m a freshman, I know this post is kind of useless. However, I’d like some advice on what to keep up and what to change if I want a shot at getting into Columbia. Also, some random tips would be cool.

I am a half Caucasian, half Japanese female.

I currently have an unweighted GPA of 4.0 (my school hasn’t released freshman weighted GPA’s yet)

I live in NY

This year I took:

Regents Global I
Math-Algebra II Honors
English (general)
Regents Chemistry
Latin 3 Honors

Next year I am scheduled to take:

AP European History
Geometry Honors
English Honors
AP Biology
Latin 4 Honors
Science Scholars (a 2 1/2 year program based on individual scientific research and presentations, lab work over the summer)

Extra Curriculars:
Dance Team (Before trying out for this team I had 10 years of classical ballet training)
Co-President of GSA club
President of No Place For Hate (anti-bullying club)
Treasurer of the Robotics Club
Member of Builders Club (general Community service)
Member of Amnesty International Club
I have played piano for 10 years and attend Manhattan School of Music
I write, and have received some awards for fiction/poetry

Advice? Thanks so much!

Pretty much

Get good grades. Take challenging courses. Find some meaningful EC’s. Prepare for SAT’s. After all that, come back as a junior and ask for chances.

Oh, and don’t post your town or HS (I deleted them). This is called College Confidential for a reason.

Thanks so much!

Your definitely on the right track, but don’t stress yourself out too much!! Just try to do the best you can and college will all work out.
