When schools say April 1 do they mean they mail them on April 1, or you can expect to hear from them by April 1?

That depends on whether the school stipulates "released on/by" (mail date) or "communicated no later than/on" (all decisions should either be online or in mailboxes at this point and you should call the admissions office to find out what your application decision was).

Vanderbilt releases its decision on march 27th

coriface, do you know if vanderbilt emails decisions, or mail only?

This should stay on the front page.

I agree with the last poster.

bump <just in="" case=""></just>

whhhhyyyyyyy is northwestern so late????

@syosseths : Mail, but emails first for internationals.

Union College-
Washington and Lee University-
Whitman College-

vanderbilt is only by mail. that's why they never email you stuff to check your status.

If decisions online show up in the afternoon I'll have stay awake until morning...great

In a January 15th, 2008 article from the Chicago Sun-Times, speaking of Northwestern University, it states that "The 5,800 seniors accepted to the Class of 2012 will receive their letters by March 20, said Mike Mills, associate provost for undergraduate enrollment. The class size is expected to be 2,025 students."

"Will receive their letters by"? That means they might come earlier?!

depending on where you live, probably

duke is for shizzle 25th.....6:00 PM EST

how do we make it "important" ??
and how can we be sure the info posted is accurate! I think a lot of schools that say April 1st they meant "by april first" and sometimes schools give a more accurate date afterwards... lets hope so
