When will applicants be notified of acceptance (or the other thing...)

As of now it looks like the 24th.

I think they said decisions would be mailed the 24th and put online 3 days later.

does it only show admissions decision through mail?
or will they for sure put it online too?

Usually online 3 days after it’s sent by snail mail.

I tweeted about how i was waiting for my decision and I got a reply from them saying
“@moistlipwig Just a few more days until we start mailing out decision letters.”

So the 24th seems about right.

Are decisions posted on an online ‘check status’ site or by email?

Wow! hahha I’m excited!

My brother goes to CMU and he went to admissions office to see when I would receive my letter.

This is straight from the admissions office:
They are mailing letters the 24th and they will go online 3 days later.

carroch, thanks for letting us know!!

ya carroch thanks!
but carroch, were they suppose to send us a email saying that they are sending us letters? or…no?

how do u find out online?

Checked “where am I in the admission process” and nothing new is there. Anyone find out their acceptances yet?

if i dont have my admission ID, what do i do?

I’ve heard that the acceptances won’t be posted until tomorrow; the number of days was changed from 3 to 4. although, i have heard that people have started seeing updates in the form of “financial aid eligibility letters”

as for the admission ID, it should be highlighted on the fin aid notice page you got after applying to CMU. you might have to call the admissions office if you can’t find it

My D had to email them for her ID and they said they would not email the ID- it had to be snail-mailed. It’s been over a week, and naturally, it has not come yet. :-(

@MusicMuse784 - they should be able to send the ID via text message as well.

Decisions are now posted online. Go to the “Where Am I in the Application Process” and login. Your decision will be under “College Choices”

My son is on the “priority” waitlist. Any insight? Looks like in 2008 about 50% of these folks got in. Less last year. He’s giving admissions a call today as well as sending an update letter for his file.

Are his chances better if we go no-financial-aid needed?

I got into Carnegie Institute of Technology!! =)
