Admission numbers

<p>Does anyone know the total number of students admitted for the class of 2015? I know that for the SEAS 3360 or so students were admitted and that there were over 23900 applications sent to UVA this year. Just wondering what the other schools numbers were.</p>

Total number of applications: 24,005 (up from 22,512 last year)
Total number of VA apps: 7,955
Total number of OOS apps: 16,045
(I’m aware there is a discrepancy there…when I figure it out, I’ll edit this)</p>

<p>Overall offers: 7,750 total offers (7,212 last year, including waiting list offers)
Total VA offers: 3,562 offers (45%)
Total OOS offers: 4,183 offers (26%)</p>

<p>Enrollment goal: 3,360 first-year students

<p>blueiguana…Do you happen to know how these numbers differ from last year? I know it says “up from 22,512 last year”, but what were the actual number of IS apps and OOS apps for both 2010 and 2011? What was the actual acceptance rate last year for IS apps? OOS apps? Just curious.</p>

<p>As these are preliminary numbers they will change slightly once any possible waitlist students are added. Hazel is correct the final numbers would be in the common data set. For a direct comparison of preliminary numbers for the class of 2014, Dean J posted stats on 3/26/10.</p>

Here are some preliminary numbers for you to crunch on. Please understand that I do not have additional statistics. I am giving you all I can right now and the office is very, very busy today. Statistics for previous years were shared last week.</p>

<p>The Office of Institutional Assessment is the source of all official statistics about UVa. Their website will update in time with more data.</p>

<p>Total number of applications: 22,516 (up from 21,839 last year)
Total number of VA apps: 7,964
Total number of OOS apps: 14,652</p>

<p>Overall offers: 6,907 total offers
Total VA offers: 3,380 offers (42.4%)
Total OOS offers: 3,527 offers (24%)</p>

<p>Enrollment goal: 3,240 first-year students

<p>Quite interesting. Thanks for the data, blueigiana. I was a bit surprised that all the growth occurred in the OOS applicants; the IS remained more or less the same. The increase in class size certainly benefitted both populations though.</p>

<p>The instate rate may remain more similar because the instate kids and their guidance counselors tend to have a pretty good idea of whether or not they are competitive for admission to UVa.The out of state rate has probably increased with the fairly recent addition of the common application.Also, admissions may be doing more outreach to out of state kids?</p>
