admission, part I... HELP! :(

i'm going to be a senior this year and i've only taken the SAT I once (oct 2006). i was pretty much traumatized by my score that i was a bit scared to retake it until this upcoming oct 2007 test.

a few days ago, i was informed that USC has released the optional PART I for fall 2008.
however, the USC part I (dead line mid-oct 2007) asks for my highest SAT I CR, math, and writing.
i'm fairly confident that i will score much higher on the oct 2007 test and i am planning to submit part I AFTER i take the oct test and receive my scores.

however, i am afraid that submitting part I so late may affect my chances of getting into USC.

so what should i do?
should i submit part I early but with lower SAT scores?
or should i submit part I later but with higher SAT scores?

thanks! :(

haha that's my dilemma too but for different schools...

Part I is not required; it just saves you $15 on the application overall. If you choose to turn in Part I, just use the scores from October 2006 and send in your October 2007 scores later. I sent in my January scores this year, which was well after I completed both parts of the application.

If the deadline for part I is mid-october, you won't be able to complete Part I with your October 2007 scores on it anyway. I think you should just complete Part I with the 2006 scores on it, and send your 2007 scores later. It will save you money, and they will see your, hopefully, improved scores later on.

Don't worry- part one is not used for evaluation. They are just using it for stat purposes.

Yeah, I am having the same problem. I plan to just use my old scores and send in my new ones when they are available. Because Part I is due before October SAT scores will even come out.
(Sorry to repeat what others said)

aww okay. thanks, guys!
i just really really really hope they wont see my bad 2006 scores and not even look at my real application later onnnn...

Yeah I am in the exact same situation. I am planning on doing the Part I anyways.

Yeah, you can easily update your scores after turning in Part I to save the money
