I have an avg of 2200 on practice SAT tests, so that should give u some idea.

It's a little bit too early to say since you're still in 10th grade. If you can get the SAT you are predicting you will have a good shot.

10th grade? I am in 11 th man .... lol I have written my Grade XI avg too! 85%

Sorry I didn't notice. That really doesn't change my opinion though. I'm not familiar with the grading system in India, but if it is similar to America's, you need to bring your GPA up.

Yeah, you seem to have decent to good EC's and your SAT is definitely in the Vanderbilt range, but not knowing how your grading scale transfers over to a 4-point scale makes it difficult to say. For now, I give you a tentative 'yes'.

"2. Hindi : 63%(Oops) (B)"

That doesn't look like a B to me and it probably won't to an adcom either...

I am in india Pasch the passing marks here are 33 on 100 so that is the grading system by the Ministry of Education as it is the markin is a bit harsh here. and how does a 63 in hindi matter...

If you take a class, you are expected to do well in it. Simple as that.

Hindi is difficult as hell here. I had been scoring 86/100 on all the exams and mid term exams before the final exam......its just the final one i messed up.Our examination papers are checked somewhere else and are not shown to us so i dont know where i went wrong. And I have dropped hindi in grade 11!! :D

As an student studying in the Indian curriculum, your scores are really good and they will in no way hinder your application. An 85% in XIth is good and not many people score that high as there is a huge transition from 10th to 11th courseload.

Scoring a 63% in Hindi is better than scoring the same in Maths. Plus you exactly don't need Hindi for becoming a good engineer. Also, Don't care too much on the grades of the Indian curriculum. The universities know very well how to look at an Indian curriculum application and how to grade a student based on the marks.

If I am right (coz I am not too sure of all the boards in India) I don't think it is possible for him to choose a subject other than Hindi (unless Sanskrit or someother regional language is available and that too is going to be of the same difficulty as Hindi) as it is a fixed curriculum.

Your EC's are good and the IIT stuff is pretty big. Plus the sports part shows that you are an all rounder.

Just do well in the SAT and hope for the best.

will try my best for SAT
