Originally, I was admitted for transfer to UCSC in Fall 2013. I was told by an admissions counselor that it was fine to withdraw from a major requirement class in Spring 2013 since it didn't need to be completed prior to transfer. It later turned out that admissions had wanted me to complete it before transferring regardless, so my admission for Fall 2013 was canceled. After I appealed, I was reinstated into the system (myUCSC, UCSC email, etc.) with my admission postponed to Winter 2014 on the sole condition that I complete that very class, at the same CC, in Fall 2013. I'm enrolled in the class, which starts next week.

However, I need advice from people who've been in the situation of having transfer admission delayed by a quarter on the premise that a class is retaken in the quarter one was originally supposed to transfer in. The duration between Fall and Winter is very short, and my final grade won't be posted until early January/when Winter Quarter starts. Does everything work out with registering for classes, getting financial aid (which I'll be totally reliant on for school and housing), and so forth in time to seamlessly transition in?
