<p>I'm applying to the College of Engineering and the Honors College; does applying to the Honors College effect my general admissions chances? Also, what are my chances? Thanks</p>

SAT: 2040 (700 math, 710 writing, 630 cr, 10 essay)
SAT2: 700 math II, 740 BioE
ACT: 31 (33 math, 34 writing, 10 essay, 28 reading, 28 science)
Senior classes: AP Eng, AP Span, AP calc BC, honors physics, Gov/econ, Jazz band, soccer
HS course load: all honors/ap classes except history</p>
<p>Downsides: white, not much work or community service, OOS, </p>

<p>essays should be pretty good, applying quite close to the dec 1 deadline though.</p>
<p>20 – 80 character lines is like, 200-300 words. Basically just short answers.</p>

<p>I think your scores are still above the out-of state average, so that’s good. OOS is generally pretty competitive for UT, but it seems like you should get in.</p>
<p>I really don’t know about honors, tbh. Haha, I’m freaking out about it, personally.</p>
<p>Applying honors will not give you a better or worse chance at being accepted to UT or Cockrell.</p>
<p>I’m not familiar with the type of people accepted to Cockrell, their honors program, or out of state applicants, so I can’t help you there; sorry.</p>
