Admission question

My D has UofR as her #1 choice. We've visited twice and she's struck up a nice relationship with a professor in her proposed major. She has very good stats and EC's and will have good LOR's. writing is her forte, so I'm pretty confident her essays will be great.

Here's my question...another girl from her HS is planning to apply ED. This girl has a slightly higher GPA and equal test scores. Both girls have good EC's. I think my D's EC's are a bit stronger. Bottom line is they are both excellent candidates and most schools would be thrilled to have the matriculate. So...do smallish schools like Richmond frown upon accepting kids from the same high school? I know this is not an issue in large schools. However, seems like the smaller schools like diversity. We are OOS if that matters. Thanks in advance!

Caveat - I don’t work for admissions, I’m just fairly familiar with various aspects. As such, this is a (semi) informed opinion.

You don’t have anything to worry about. She’ll be judged on her own merit. Best of luck with the process.

Thanks for the reply!
