I'm a junior in highschool. I have a 2.9 cumulative GPA and a 28 on the ACT. If I drastically improve my GPA my senior year, what are my chances of getting in?

If you apply as early as possible, you may have a chance. Your senior year GPA will not be calculated into your current GPA. MSU will see the 2.9. If you are deferred, they would like to see a >3.5 senior year GPA.

Great ACT score, GPA may hurt… is that weighted/ unweighted? Difficult courses? Apply early to incease your chances of admission, get your overall GPA above 3.0

According to Collegeboard, only 6% of admittees had a GPA <3.0. That is the GPA that ad coms will see when you apply. That doesn’t bode well for most people under a 3.0 :(. Your ACT is in their top 25%.

What is your course rigor like (APs, Honors, etc)? What about ECs?

I was deferred with a 3.4933 gpa… and my seventh semester grades were over 3.62… No way… will you get in at MSU being 2.9…

2.9 is too low. Try to get te GPA over 3.0 and you have a chance. They probably will want to see seventh semester grades before making a decision.

Yeah I agree with those above. Try to get your 2nd semester junior year grades up so you are able to have a cumulative of above 3.0 and you’ll have a better chance.
