Does anyone know what the admit rates are for CAS vs. Wharton, etc.? I'm applying ED to CAS, but I figure a lot of the early applicants are for Wharton, which could mean CAS has a higher admit rate than the overall 26% for ED.

Most of the Early applicants and Regular applicants are to the College, I would estimate around 70-75% are, while the rest are Wharton/Engineering/Nursing/Dual Degree.

Wharton is about 17-20% ED, CAS is about 24-25% ED, Engineering is 28-30% ED, while Nursing is a lot higher for ED. Overall 26%

Wharton is about 6% RD, CAS is about 9% RD, Engineering is about 15% RD, and Nursing is about 25-30% RD. Overall 9.5%

Overall Acceptance rate for both ED and RD is 12%

It’s not that high. For the Class of 2014, the overall acceptance rate for the Nursing School was 20%, and the RD rate would have been even lower:

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but here are the results of an hour or two of research. Might be useful for the future.

This [Daily Pennsylvanian article](http://thedp.com/index.php/article/2003/04/admission_rates_drop_at_penn_ivies) dated 2003-04-11 has numbers for the class of 2007, with a 20.5% overall admit rate:

[This site](ivysuccess.com is for sale) quotes the same numbers for the class of 2007, adding:

[This site](http://www.hernandezcollegeconsulting.com/ivy-league-admission-statistics-2009/) has some numbers for the class of 2009:

[This post on CC](http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-pennsylvania/865441-wharton-early-decision-admission-rate.html#post9722724) states with source an interview with Lee Stetson (then admissions director at Penn) that Wharton’s admission rate is 7-8% as of April 2006. I believe this number is for class of 2010.

[Businessweek’s profile](<a href=“Bloomberg - Are you a robot?”>Bloomberg - Are you a robot?) says Wharton’s undergrad admit rate is 10% (I’m assuming this is for class of 2014, since they report Penn’s overall admit rate to be 14%).

[This SEAS page](<a href=“Marketing and Communications |”>About) says that for the class of 2014, SEAS admitted 811 out of 4791 students, for an admit rate of 17%. 410 enrolled for a yield of 51%.

[This CC thread](http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-pennsylvania/1103529-upenn-seas-early-decision-acceptance-rate.html) states that the overall SEAS (Engineering) admit rate is about 16% as of 2011, for class of 2014.

[The SEAS website](<a href=“Undergraduate Admissions |”>FAQ) says there were 6,141 freshman applications for the class of 2015, and the average class size is 410. So an admission rate of about 16% gives 983 admits, which would get to the average class size with a 42% yield. Sounds kinda reasonable?

According to [this CC thread](http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-pennsylvania/1177399-released-wharton-admissions-statistics.html), for the class of 2015, out of a 12.3% overall admit rate, Wharton’s overall was 8%, College overall 10%. Overall RD was 10%, College RD 9%, Wharton RD 7%.

Other tidbits:
Wharton Class of 2015 matriculants: 527 url=http://www.wharton.upenn.edu/undergrad/life-at-wharton/class-profile.cfm

Just to clarify, that second set of numbers was for Early Decision.
