I want to compare how the admission rates have drop over the years. Does anyone know where I can go to find admission rates from the past?

if you go to the websites of individual colleges, they usually have admission rates from past years, so you can see how much they've dropped.

it is usually not that significant (less than 5%)

Some schools have seen big drops due to increased applications brought about by the Common App, more raw numbers of graduating HS seniors, more internationals wanting to go to US colleges and more "buzz" about certain top-tier schools by marketing, news, celebrity, whatever (e.g. the huge boost at NYU due to the Olsen twins).

The schools themselves haven't changed that much -- it's just that more and more people are applying to them. Just because you get a 40% surge in apps over 10 years doesn't mean your college can physically accommodate any more students than before (think HYPS) therefore, huge drop in accept rates.
