I am going going to apply to Harvard, Brown, Penn and Stanford along with less selective schools. However I am concerned about the course requirements. I was very sick the beginning of my freshman year and missed several weeks of school. To make things worse, we moved out of state and I had to transfer schools. It was too late to enroll in many electives that year at my new school. So, I can only complete three years of a foreign language (French). Will this hurt my chances of admission? I am taking a lot of competitive classes otherwise, and if I could change things I would have taken a foreign language beginning 8th grade year so this situation wouldn't cause an issue. Obviously it's too late for that now. Any suggestions? Advice? Thanks.

Just work as hard as u can now, since u obviously can’t change the past. Admissions are unpredictable, specially at the Ivy’s so u can never really tell what will harm u or benefit u. Make full use of all opportunities available to u now.Good luck!

And … don’t whine in your essays.

Three years of foreign language would not necessarily negatively impact your application.
The important thing now is what you made of the three years of the French.
The Ivies do not necessarily require four years of foreign language
