I was offered admission to the UW this month, and I have since found out that I did very poorly first semester senior year. What do you think it takes to have my admission rescinded? I think I have a D and perhaps a C both in AP courses. Thanks for your input. I looked on the school's site and others but could not find information regarding the concern. Considering the average size of their freshmen class (4,000+), I feel as if the school would probably not rescind my admission, but I am very nervous.

In addition, do you know when the school checks the report cards of their prospective freshmen students?

Don't have an answer to your question directly. However, do you mind posting your admit stats (GPA; SAT; residence statuts; class distribution and so on). Thank you.

I believe the next time you will have to show UW some grades will be the end of the year. Most (all?) schools require a final transcript at that point. However, I would check their website for advice if you get a D in any class in the meantime.....that may need to be reported sooner?? Just read that you said you've already checked....I would do my best to bring that grade up second semester. Good luck.

It's highly unlikely that uw will reject anyone in ur situation unless you FAIL the class (still unlikely if it wasn't part of req)...the purpose of final transcript is usually to make sure that you have met the course req. Example....I have 0 art credits but will be taking 1 quarter of art (= 1 year at HS) during spring quarter...this way they make sure that i have taken it and passed.

I think as long as you don't fail classes and you stil complete all core requirements then you will be OK. But theres always freak thigns that happen.

Of course, the notion of rescinding an offer of admission based on last semester grades is kind of nonsensical since the UW doesn't even require a high school diploma to apply.
