And is sas supposed to be hard to get into this year?

@Njrutgershopeful No one really knows, it depends on the applicant pool. Although it is common for people to list SAS as a back up school just in case they do not get into the business/engineering/pharmacy schools. So you’re competing with a lot of people but the requirements(SATs, GPA) for the school aren’t too competitive. its pretty wide range.

I got accepted in October (just came across this thread today). I got into both of my top choice schools, CAS and SEBS, for Pre-Dental/Biology. As an OOS student, I wasn’t 100% sure if I’d even get in. While I had a strong essay, a good GPA throughout high school , a tough course load for my senior year, a number of EC’s, and numerous awards and accomplishments, my SAT’s were’nt really as high as I thought they would need to be for admission. I really feel like Rutgers looked at me as a real person, not numbers and stats on a piece of paper. I was really surprised to be accepted a week after applying! I was expecting to hear back in December/January. I’m still waiting to hear back from most of the school that I applied to, but in so proud to say that Rutgers was my first college acceptance.

@sudo97 I was accepted on the 29th, and applied about a week before

@redemption15 & @reddevil10 you both have good chances, also what schools did you apply too?. The process is entirely random so don’t worry if you haven’t heard. It takes awhile for some. But if you applied early action then you should hear by Jan 31st but if you applied regular you should have a decision by February 28th.

Honors Programs are beginning to mail students with results. I got SAS’s today.

Honors programs send info via email or regular mail?

@NJCornellMom Regular Mail

Thanks!

Did we have to apply separately for Honors?

I do not believe so. I didn’t even expect to get in tbh. Hopefully I get one for Engineering though.

@yikesyikesyikes No you dont. For SAS the only requirement to be CONSIDERED is a minimum of a 600 in CR and then to be accepted they base it off your essay and extra curriculars from your regular application. The other schools have more requirements other than Business; Business Honors is combined with SAS.

@maniactango Enginerring is more complicated than SAS .

From their website: “To participate in the Honors Academy, students must meet certain academic requirements, including minimum SAT scores (Math 750+, Critical Reading SAT-I 650+, and combined SAT score 1450+), high school ranking in the top 5%, and achievement on the Rutgers math placement test.”

Got accepted into Rutgers today. College of Engineering!

I’m at a 3.0 and a 1740, does class rank matter
I live in NJ, my SAT is 1750, my GPA is(?) a 3.48.
I have been an member of my school’s German Honors Society, and also Vice president last year and president this year. I have also done ski club and German club each for one year.
I have tutored, but I have barely any community service hours (maybe like 3).
I am taking 3 AP classes this year, one honors, and one independent study for an AP test.
My past years I’ve always had at least one honors course, and I will be taking some classes after school at my local community college to get some credits before I go to college.
I also am fluent in Polish since my parent immigrated from Poland, and I am well on my way to becoming fluent in German.
I also scored #17 in the nation for for a German exam. (AATG)
I am applying for SAS New Brunswick
I have a problem, because when my councelor gave me my transcript so I could do my SRAR, the GPA was 3.48.
However, yesterday I learn that apparently it’s a 3.16. I don’t see how it’s possible, I’ve had one D+(honors chem) and 3 C’s (all honors but one). Every other grade has been an A or B.
Now, on the transcript it says it is a 3.16 but no grades or anything else was changed, and they don’t factor in the grades from this year.
I submitted my SRAR thinking I have a 3.48, and now I think they are going to see that and think I’m lying. I don’t know what to do, my councelor said she will call, but knowing her she will probably just forget.
The worst thing is that she failed to update me while I still had time to edit the SRAR or to even apply to other schools.
I just want to study Psychology and German, and I feel like just because I can’t do math well and I can’t understand chemistry, I’m going to be denied.
