Does UW admit people only by mail only or can we find out through a portal as well?

It sends emails to international students. It doesn’t to regular.
There is no portal, but some people monitor their unofficial transcripts on myUW - it can help you to find out your result, but only if your admission offer is out.

Do we assume the March 15-31st dates mean they put the letters in the mail on the 14th, so the 15th is the first day they might start arriving locally?

In 2011, the letters were send the 15th and arrived the 16th so I think it’s safe to assume that the letters won’t arrive till the 16th

the 16th is a Saturday, so it’s only bul mail then. my guess is no one hears until Monday the 18th at the earliest. and OOS will probably hear around the 22nd.

sorry, bulk mail is what I meant to say

In 2012 the letters went out early. Some people started receiving their acceptance letters on the 14th, so they must have mailed them on the 13th.

D and friend received their acceptance letters on 14th last year. Another friend did not get hers until the 28th. Letters had been mailed on the 12th. All 3 love UW. Good luck to everyone!

Any idea what the release order is? Last name or major I assume?

In the accepted thread last year lots of folks were trying to figure out if there was any pattern. D and 1st friend were nowhere close alphabetically, but had great stats/ecs. Other friend had much lower stats but in same area of alphabet as D. 3 very different majors. It was difficult for the one who was the last to know but all are doing well - don’t get down if you don’t hear right away!

Hi, Do International Applicants receive responses by email or only by postal mail???

If internationals do get an email when should we expect to get it? Tomorrow (the 15th)?

Whelp, looks like it’s time to begin stalking the mail.
Good luck all.

do they post the admission decisions online perchance because I will not be able to get my mail because I will be away

beautifulchick95, no. Check your unofficial transcript.

If the unofficial transcript doesn’t load (once it starts to load for some people), does it mean you got rejected/waitlisted or can it still end up loading a few days later?

I was wondering if I would be considered international or domestic. I’m a US citizen, but I currently live and go to high school overseas. I provided UW with both my international home mailing address, and my US permanent address (at my uncle’s house). Do you think UW would send my admission result through an email (as I’m international?) or through mail?

Sorry for the stupid question but can anyone tell me how to check my unofficial transcript? I’m in my uw portal right now

Just look to the side at the little link that says “admissions”.

Click that link and then once the page loads, on the right lower half of the page in a box titled “After being admitted”, there’s the link for your unofficial transcript.

Let me know if it loads!

noone has been able to load the transcript yet, so don’t worry.
