Does ANYONE get admitted without an interview?

Truthfully, I only just considered potentially applying to MIT--my math teacher strongly recommended it, and a lot of kids with a very similar profile to mine from my school have gotten in there and loved it over the last few years. Credential-wise, I think I'd be a strong applicant, but how much does not having an interview hurt you? Or is there any way to get an interview this late, when they say you need to contact for one by the first?

Yes, people get admitted without an interview, but not nearly as many of them as the ones who have interviews. Call your local educational counselor and explain that you've just decided you want to apply and see if he can squeeze you in. Don't be surprised if he can't, and remember that he is under no obligation to do so (so be appropriately polite).
