What are my chances at Barnard (first choice) , bryn mawr, wellesley, nyu, GW? And are schools like columbia or cornell so far out of range i shouldn’t bother trying?
SAT:
math- 690
verbal- 650
writing- 640

sat II’s
u.s. hist- 710
math 1- 600 (retaking this, i can do better)

ranked 10th out of 226 (top 4%)
3.8 GPA

one sport, various clubs, national honor society, world language honor soceity, 200 volunteer hours

5 AP’s and 4 years of all honors classes

minority group: hispanic

Great chances at barnard, raise that sat 2 to really boost your chances.

we got the same total SAT score...you have a great class ranking plus you are a racial minority. i would say you shouldn't worry about getting into Barnard, and you should get into your other schools as well. NYU might be a reach? what do other ppl think?

from what i understand barnard is a lot more selective than nyu....is that incorrect? and since we got he same score, did u already apply to colleges and where did u get in?

chances are good, IMHO, at NYU and GW -- Barnard could be on the cusp, but don't hesitate to apply ED if that's what you want. The others will be quite tough, although Bryn Mawr could come through for you (but again if you applied early) --

Decent shot at Wellesley. Apply for their Early Eval program.

I was mistaken...Barnard is more selective than NYU (27% and 35%, respectively). But your chances go up if you appy ED to NYU (42.5%) or ED to Barnard (41%).

No I have not yet applied to schools...I will be a senior in the fall.

Work on raising your SAT score (especially writing) and if you are sure you want to go to Barnard 1st choice, you should apply ED.
