Admission Statistics

I'm new to College Confidential. My question may have already been answered, but I couldn't find it. Does anyone know the Admission Statistics for this year? Ex: SAT & ACT middle 50% and average scores - also Admit rate?

21% admit rate

Middle 50% of
SAT Critical Reading: 630 - 730 95%
SAT Math: 670 - 770 95%
SAT Writing: - -
ACT Composite: 29 - 33

Is there any word on how many enrolled in class of 2013? Or do we have to wait until waitlist is decided?

For the first time in the history of Cornell, the admit rate for the incoming freshman class dropped below 20 percent. After seeing a rise in early admissions applicants, Cornell administrators projected an increase in the number of this year’s regular decision applicants, which reached an all time high of 34,381.

The admit rate for the Class of 2013, which was released after the selection process was officially completed yesterday, fell to the unprecedented level of 19.1 percent. While Cornell admitted 36.68 percent of Early Decision applicants, regular admissions only accepted 17.2 percent of applicants.

[C.U. Admits 19.1% of Applicants | The Cornell Daily Sun](C.U. Admits 19.1% of Applicants - The Cornell Daily Sun)

the most updated SAT stats can be found with a lot of searching

most colleges have to file an official undergraduate report that includes several SAT/ACT scores ranges based on the most recent year.
however, it will probably not be available till fall

Yeah, Poseidenj’s stats are for the class of 2012, they are outdated.

I wonder when Cornell plans to release the updated stats (like SAT scores). I have a feeling they did not increase or something, otherwise they would have released them already. Or it might just be because they have more students.

The middle 50% for SAT this year at Cornell rose to 700 for M and CR.

The middle 50% is a range 25%-75%, not one number.

What you really ought to be looking for, IMO, is the admission stats for the particular college at Cornell that you plan on applying to, not some university-wide aggegate across its various colleges. You will be applying to a particular college of the university, not an aggregate.

Here is the prior year’s data:

While the 20% admit rate may be unprecedented as a university-wide aggregate, individual colleges have breached it previously. The above links show Architecture and CAS admitted a little over 15% and 18%, respectively, in the prior year.
