Admission Status: Deny

Well.. they e-mailed me to tell me I was rejected... I'm kind of glad I didn't check online with their system thingy...

i got no email x____x
only found out when i checked it =/

i still haven't gotten my rejection email...

harsh, when it said "rice admission decision" in my email
and got me all excited...

damn, i was expecting a rejection- but surprises are always fun!

I was waitlisted at Rice. I think waitlisted usually means rejected. How often does a waitlisted person get in?

I'm heartbroken. Logically, I knew the chances were 50/50. Guess it was wishful thinking. It would have been a perfect fit though. Is a 2300 SAT, 34 ACT, National Merit Finalist, etc. applicant not good enough for Rice? Even the interview went very well. AAAHHHH!

wow that sucks...you have better scores than me even though I'm also a National Merit Finalist and I got in. I've experienced the same thing with other colleges though. It's such a wierd, unpredictable process.

I got rejected too.

getting rejected over time is much better..i got rejected by 6 schools in a 6 day period (UCLA, Berkeley, Rice, GW [on a side note ***??? it was my safety...oh well i've gotten into better already], UPenn and USC.)

so be happy you got into UCLA and/or Berkeley. and seriously GW you're crazy.

denied but not heartbroken. I view the admissions process as a date; you have to get rejected if either the school doesn't suit you, or the student doesn't suit the school. So I think that is very representative. And good luck to you guys at other schools.
