Not sure of IU order of processing. My son's Onestart says "still processing application". He applied 10/30, with no info missing. Seems like others have been accepted already who applied even later. He is out of state, top 15% of class, rigorous schedule, high GPA but low CR score (490CR/610M). Possible IU has him pended waiting for better scores or to see if better applicants by 1/15? Or are we just impatient :) ?

As the year progresses it takes longer for applicants to receive information on acceptance. The deadline for applicants hoping to be eligible for merit scholarships was 11/1. Many, many students apply just before that deadline, as did your son. Applicants that apply in August might receive a reply in 7-10 days. For applicants that apply near the scholarship deadline and later it will take longer.

No need to worry about it yet. He will get a decision my 1/15.

One thing you probably don’t know is exactly when IU received his test scores and HS transcript. Often those arrive later.

BTW–are you basing this idea that others that have applied later have been accepted on first hand knowledge or this forum?

Thanks. Query based on very small pool (one kid we know and a few on this forum) who have already been accepted.

Don’t worry you should receive the decision by the end of this month .
