Admission status said "We have completed an initial review of your application. Due to the competitive nature of our admission process, we will begin sending admission decisions in February." .... this means i've been denied?

uhhhh, what school?

I guess it means u have been deferred ?!

A bit cryptic but appears to be saying that you will receive a decision in Feb or thereafter not that you have been denied.

ok. how about this …

  1. We have completed an initial review of your application. Due to the competitive nature of our admission process, we will begin sending admission decisions in February.
  2. Application status completed.
  3. Please send in first semester grade as soon as posted.
  4. No decision has been made at this time. Please send in 7th semester grade by April 1st.
what are the chances to get in with each status report? percentage wise,… this way i know what to expect. …

Did you apply ED/EA? Perhaps if so, you were deferred to RD?

That sounds like they want your 1st semester grades of your senior year before making their decision. My friend’s dgt had this happen to her. Her freshman year grades were low but she has really brought them up and they want to see if this trend continued through her senior year. She also applied to the University and to a specific program so not sure if the deferred status will be just for the program she wants or for the University also.

If you applied regular decision, all that is telling you is that after an initial review of what you sent your application is deemed complete but you will need to send your mid-year report (first semester grades) as soon as they come out. It means nothing as to whether you will or will not be admitted except to show at this point that you won’t be rejected for failing to submit required materials.
