Admission Status

I know on Tulane's website they say students love them for their "quick response time," but just how quick is it? Does anyone know approximately how long it takes for your decision to show up online?

Haha, well for me it’s been nearly three months since my status showed complete, and still no decision…but I’m pretty sure that’s not typical!

Wow - thats not quick at all!

My daughter applied when the TU application first became available at the end of August and heard within four weeks. But, it was so early on. I’m sure that as more and more applications have been submitted the wait time gets longer. Good luck!!

DS submitted his email online app 12/19 and they accepted him on 01/14 according to the letter. I happened to be checking the online app status that Friday night and saw the “Congratulations…” message. The letter arrived the following week.

anonymityyy: After looking at your stats from earlier posts, I’m surprised you haven’t heard by now. Did you apply using the common app or their Personal Application? Have you sent them your mid-year transcripts?

AVHS Dad - I used their Personal Application. A few weeks ago I emailed them just to make sure all was well, but they said to keep checking and that they were still getting around to my app. I haven’t sent midyear reports yet, actually - just about to. I sure hope that’s what they’re waiting for!

S2 applied with the Personal Application and once they had all the info in their hands (took some doing, multiple faxes and phone calls) it took about 3 weeks.

anonymityyy: Sounds like you did well this past semester. I’d bet a beignet you’ll be accepted within 2-3 weeks after they get that transcript.

Yep, 2-3 weeks sounds right. That’s about how long it took for me to hear back, I think.

Hi, sorry to barge in lol. I just checked the website and it has just updated to say I was admitted, but I’m wondering if any new information could be provided in the acceptance letter (i.e. merit aid) Thanks!

anon2010 - Congratulations! Yes, information regarding merit scholarships and/or honors program will be in your acceptance letter.

thank you gabby!!! its only the second college ive gotten into so far (i got into my state school) so im pretty excited :)

Congrats anon. I know you have applied to a number of highly ranked schools, as you should with your stats. Please be aware that Tulane has a “no-loan” policy for families with income of less than $75,000/year. I was kind of bummed that you had missed the deadline for the DHS applications, but it won’t matter so much in your case if you qualify for the no loan package. In any case, I would be shocked if you were not offered the $25K scholarship and invited to the Honors Program, unless there is something I am missing in your resume.

Good luck with everything. I am sure Tulane would be very fortunate to have you attend. Have you visited?

I submitted my personal app on december 31st and still have not received an answer----so what is that, around 6 weeks lol

I submitted mine December 5 and STILL haven’t heard back.

I haven’t really looked into this, but does Tulane promise rapid feedback for RD apps submitted that late, or for that matter do they actually promise anything other than April 1 for RD apps submitted any time? I know they often do provide feedback far more quickly, even for RD apps, but what do they actually say?

My son applied 12/16 and his online status showed accepted as of 2/12. We have not gotten his packet yet in the mail to see about merit, but we hope to have that very soon. He had his decision a few days after his mid year transcript was received.

The emails we received for the Personal App said “A quick admission decision!” if submitted by 11/15.
After that the Personal App emails say “you will hear from us soon” or some such.

mumof2boyz: Congrats! I would expect that package no later than tomorrow’s mail.

Took 10 days to get it, but my son finally received his packet. He was awarded the Presidential 25k per year scholarship and Honors program!

mum, that is wonderful! Great you finally got the excellent news. Congrats to him and you.
