Admission to NUS

HEY GUYS!!
Anyone out here applying to NUS(singapore)???
what is usually the score at which a student gets accepted for admission?
are boards the only criterion?

I’ll be applying I guess. Boards are only one of the criteria.

Count me in …

if you are applying through the SATs, i think NUS needs 2150+ on SAT1,
a ‘great’ score on the SAT 2s (late 700s) or a good AP score (4 or more on 3 subjects).

if you are applying through the IB diploma program, a 40 is almost a sure-in. late 30s stand a very high chance too.
no idea about boards.

Do you apply EITHER through APs or SAT? Coz I have both.

its OR. SAT 1 is compulsory (the OR is for SAT subject tests vs APs)

NUS came to my school but I’m more interested in US. lol. Might apply though.

btw, they specifically said that the requirements change from cohort to cohort. So all this is from the past trends and nothing is guaranteed. But every year kids from my school go to NUS, and they all get through good scores on the IBDP (37 this year got second preference major, 39+ got first preference this year).

That is, I have never seen anyone get through SATs, only IB scores.

Are you doing IBDP or only APs?

Will a 2110 SATI and generally good (750+) SATII scores be good enough for NUS?

umm, as i recall it, it was 2150.

But the ‘2150’ and '780’s on SAT 2 were just a general number and didnt sound like a hard and fast rule, but it was highly recommended if Im not wrong. So you may get through, i dont know.

Please not that I have personally never seen anyone get through to NUS with the SATs or APs, just the IBDP.

This is *****ing unfair. 40+ in IB for us Singapore Citizens itself is not confirmed in. You need like 42 atleast for us for a lot of courses. Which is why my friends who got into Oxbridge and Ivies dont get into NUS. Urgh…if only they had some stricter criteria for international students. whole place is flooded with them.

What is the financial aid situation like in NUS? I mean, what is the tuition fee and do they offer financial aid to internationals?

They offer a MOE Tuition Grant, so internationals need to pay just the subsidized fees (around 9K Sing D).

Anyone know how to send NUS your SAT score reports?

but i guess Grade 12 results will do to secure admission to NUS

u need atleast 93-94 % in class 12 to get in through boards.
and similar in class 10.

is NUS really that great an institution? just demanding high scores doesnt really make a college great does it?

I haven’t really done my research on NUS so I don’t really know…

niksy_nik is right. Prepare to get “atleast” 93% in boards for NUS. Otherwise you’ll be outrightly rejected! Don’t get scared. NUS is over hyped in India as a result of which more students apply and therefore the competition is very stiff. Majority of South Indians end up at NUS due to their high percentages!

I am a class 12 student from India.
I really need help with this. I dont have any time to prepare for SAT.
Can I make sure to get into NUS without an SAT also?

you can…if you belong to cbse/icse…Sat is compulsory for state board though.

Does anybody know NUS, NTU acceptance stats for last couple of years, a link where this information can be found?

Thanks

How do i submit my SAT scores to NUS? Please, Can anyone help me with this?
