I'm a freshman in high school. I've always dreamed about going to Standord and really hope to make it come true. I currently have a 4.33 gpa, volunteer regularly at a retirement center, am in my schools volunteering club, my schools eliminating hunger/poverty club, on my schools dance team, and have been to all of the continents in the world except Antarctica. I've also been to all of the states in the US but 4. Growing up I did pageants and I love to act. School is so important to me and I've learned the importance of giving back to my community. Next summer, I'm going to a camp in Africa to help kids and families with HIV/aids and kids who dont have families. I don't mean to be annoying (some people I know think that these posts are annoying) and would just like any tips on how to get in. Thanks so much!

Also, I’m thinking of making my own charity for whenever I travel going to homeless shelters or to areas where kids need help and donating things and helping them.

Are you for real?

Anyway…get really passionate about something…and follow it till you make it nationally/internationally…And yes, that combined with a super SAT/GPA will get you in.

But seriously, Stanford is not the be all, end all. Enjoy your high school and get involved in ECs that you like, and not because it will get you to college.

I am worried about my SAT/ACT but I have a little ways to go until that. I am really enjoying high school. Some people volunteer just because of college, but I truly love to do it and do it whenever I can! My dad ad went to University of Chicago and Yale so I have some pressure from that. But itd would be amazing to go there!

I’m also on my schools debate team. Just thought I’d add that.

Come back in three years…

Being “on” the debate team isn’t much of anything. Get to finals in state and national tournaments; be an officer.

Read all over CC, especially in the Admissions Hindsight section. Great advice; good ish.
