kcj, have you applied already?

and contrary to what other people on that thread said, i think you stand a pretty good chance at getting admitted to stanford. your real weakness is your sat score.

Kcj2196, I looked at your stats and you are certainly doing well. I agree with ILikePi314 that your SAT is a little weak for Stanford, but your ACT is not–it is excellent. I think (not sure- I’d have to check) that you can submit either the SAT plus SAT subject tests OR the ACT. That is the case with many of the top-tier colleges and universitites (and, of course, one can choose to submit ACT and SAT subject tests without SAT I if they are a “SAT or ACT school”. In that case, your ACT must be an ACT “with writing” and not the plain ACT—was yours “with writing”?

jennieling, stanford doesn’t consider writing with ACT. i’m pretty sure

You guys are the reason I love this website. Thanks so much! When I visited Stanford they told me to send all test scores because they would “find out” (legit that’s what they said) if I hid/didn’t send scores to them. On that note, I hope they at least enjoy the upward trend. Other than that I’m just super excited!!! :)

And I have applied already. I was told that the early action process was more likely at UChicago and since Stanford’s restrictive early action kept me from getting certain scholarships from my ‘safety schools’ I couldn’t do it…
