Should I just forget about Stanford or can I make any improvements my last two years in high school?

Unless you have a very competitive school, that rank’s going to hurt you

How do I know if my school is competitive?

If you don’t know if your school is competitive, it’s not that competitive.

Having said that, it’s your sophomore year. They don’t even consider freshman grades at Stanford, so the only information you really have so far is what you think your grades this year might be. It’s too soon to be worrying about what schools you can and can’t get into.

Is stanford looking for things I have done on the past or just strictly on high school?

Just high school. Maybe you write about things that you did earlier in your essays if they had a big impact on you, but no college is going to care much about what you did in middle or elementary school.
