Thanks everyone for your input. I forgot to mention I was taking 18 units and I received A’s in all my other courses, except 3rd semester physics. This put me at a 3.42 gpa for the semester, which isn’t the worst. I went into the class with an A, but didn’t do well on final. But to be honest, I wouldn’t know. My professor never posted any grades or handed any grades back (except the first midterm which I aced).
As for the other schools that accepted me, I called UCSD and they completely denied me. They said there is no appeal for late SIR submissions. For UCI, you can only do that 2 weeks after the original deadline. UCD and UCLA I’m not sure of yet, waiting to see what they say.
As for UCB, I asked for the interview but was denied by Quincy Jones. I’m waiting to see if he would let me retake the course. I am prepared to go on my knees at the admissions office at Berkeley and beg for mercy. I can’t tell you how desperately I want to be in…
