First off, thanks everyone that replied thus far. I found out yesterday about my admission status and threw this post in an attempt to get help as well as use it as a form of 3:00 A.M. venting.
The letter from the dean of admissions says, “We admitted you to the University of California, Berkeley for Fall 2015 semester on the condition that you would earn a B or Better in Physics 4C. We regret to inform you that because you did not meet these conditions, we are cancelling your admission.”
I assume that taking the class over the summer is not an option. Otherwise they would have changed my conditions of admission. However, I should still ask the admissions office for that chance.
I sent an email to admissions to UCSD and UCLA. UCLA has yet to reply but UCSD said they do not accept SIR’s past the deadline. However this seemed the be an automated response. Monday I will call the other schools that accepted me and hopefully have a personal conversation. Do I need to convince them to accept me still? I’m not sure what to say to them yet.
As for UCB, I am going to ask the dean of sciences at my community college to advocate for me and write a letter or something to hook me up. I’ll also ask my admissions officer, Quincy Jones, for the possibility of an interview. I NEED to get that interview and I NEED to show them the type of person I am. I am still in disbelief that I was rescinded.
I AM NOT GIVING UP! I WILL GO TO A UNIVERSITY NEXT SEMESTER!
