<p>Like NSM said, 85% of the applicants are qualified to go there. That means that except for some instances involving athletes and legacy students, your chances are arent based on merit, there based on dumb luck. If you dont get in, dont be dissapointed because it probably wont be because of anything you could have done.</p>

<p>I wouldn't say dumb luck. 85% may well be qualified, but that doesn't mean that they are all EQUALLY qualified. There is still a hierarchy among those who are qualified. In my estimation, getting into Harvard consists of a combination of being at the high end of the qualified crowd combined with having some trait or achievement that Harvard highly values or is specifically looking for.</p>
