Do any of you know if anyone has gotten accepted to cornell with a 1600-1700 SAT score? Could this happen if everything else is really good in the application?

methinks at that low of a range we would need to be talking like this many $$$$$$$ donation, idk though, it would be really rough

You may still have a shot if you come from a very underpriviledged background. Admissions is a crapshoot so anything is possible.

yeah im from a minority group which hopefully helps but its still a high reach for me.

which minority group?
some minorities are like hot commodities in the college market today.
you could still get in. if you have really outstanding extracurriculars, unbelievable recommendations from teachers who worship you, and an impeccable essay, your SAT score could possibly be excused.

If you have an upward grade trend, and you show a huge interest in Cornell (I think it has been well established that this is really important to the adcom) and do what others have said you are back in the running. But keep in mind that the admissions rate this year is going to run in the low twenties throughout the schools.

i know someone who applied with 1700 and someone who applied with 1840, ill let you know on the 31st.

should have studied harder =[

well I am applying from Honduras and yes I put a lot of effort into everything else, I have a 4.5 gpa weighted but my SAT kills my application. Yes, I know I should of studied harder but it is what it is.

thanks on comments, really helfull

i think u have a shot berryb! - try it..anythign is possible

Did you apply for any financial aid?

i applied intending for them to only see my 28 ACT but they saw my SAT because of the SAT IIs. I had a 1770 SAT. awful i know.

i was accepted though....

I only wanted them to see my 34 ACT but the same thing, they saw my 2130, the problem is I don't have any hooks, you think I'm ok?

Yes, I did apply for fin aid. Dande1114 what school were you accepted into?

If you have your heart set on Cornell consider transferring in as a sophomore or junior.

I got rejected with a 2190. Then again, my weighted GPA WAS a miserable 3.8.

I was rejected from CAS for Fall 2004 with a 1250/1600 and 3.8 uw....I applied for transfer the following year and was accepted.

I guess I have to wait 3 more days.

haha ok guys. calm down. i had a 1770 SAT, 28 ACT, and my math SAT II was 610.

NOT the top of the Cornell applicant pool, i know. I applied to hotel which doesnt use quantitative data to such an extreme extent. I also was deferred ED and i sent in 5 additional letters of recommendation (I was told that if i was deferred i should literally beg the admissions committee for acceptance).

and i got in. so BEST OF LUCK TO YOU ALL!
