getting in with a 19 is not at all the norm. I would not relax because we hear of one isolated instance of this occurring. I had a 24 (which is still not a score to be comfortable with) and i applied to the ACES college (easiest) and did not get in when i was a freshman.

My brother had a 30 ACT and when he applied to engineering he was rejected and did NOT get an offer of admission to an alternate program. Of course, engineering is the most selective college; therefore, what happened to him should emphasize the importance of the program/college/major for which one applies.

Note, there will not be many that get in with a 19 ACT. Those below 20 are usually less than 1% of the admittees.

As to the auto admit, don't try to figure out what the exact level is because you can't. The way it works is that each college designates rank and test scores for which it will allow auto admit by the computer and what those are vary among the colleges and change every year and can change as the admission process proceeds. Those are generally the high group. Moreover, college of business does not even allow auto admits. The vast majority go to manual review which means your file will be reviewed by at least one admissions officer. They don't really auto deny. They have scores submitted below which the computer will identify as likely denial but the file will be checked just in case there is something in there that may warrant a second look. Again, the vast majority of students are going to be between the likely deny and auto admit levels.

Just out of curiosity. Are there people who get rejected from LAS with stats in the 65%ile of accepted students from previous years?

i got in to LAS with 27 ACT 1310 SAT and 3.0 GPA....so i dont know how much they loook at GPA but im sure 3.0 or higher is fine

"Has anyone on here got auto-admit with a lower SAT score? If so, please post"

In response to that, I had a much lower SAT score, and was an auto-admit. My SAT score was 1250ish i think(cr. 680, math 570). In my case I think it was my class rank that tipped me over (2/331.) This was into LAS under political science. But yes, it is possible to be auto-admit without a 1400+. In the end, however, it doesn't matter because an admit is an admit.

I applied Electrical Engineering with 3.7ish UC system, no ranks, and a 29 ACT and it was auto-admit for 2006 session, they recieve your transcript and it changes in like 1 day.
