Admission

Hello,

I am a junior who is interested in applying to schools in California- USC, UCLA, UC Berkeley- and U. Michigan.
My GPA is low because of my freshmen grade. - 3.2 for my 9th, 3.8 for my 10th, and 3.75 for my 11th.(All unweighted.) Also,I currently have SAT score of 2020, but I am taking it again in October. Also, I have 750 for my SAT Chemistry
and I am going to take one more subject. I was in three Varsity teams for my junior year, and I am engaged in
a couple of clubs. With my standard, do I have a chance?

Are you Out of State OOS for UCs? If you read the UC admissions pages you will know that they calculate a UC gpa. It doesn’t use freshman grades.

What is your financial situation? What state do you live in?

I will apply as an “Out of State” student and I live in PA.

Also, I have 3 varsity sports.(All in one year)

Will you be able to afford the very high out-of-state tuition at the UCs?

Can you afford all of the costs associated with going to the California schools? Transportation, etc.? Not to mention the out of state tuition for the state schools on your list.

To be honest, We(me and my parents) don’t really care about the cost… I just want to get out of this place and go to a good school in California

They may think differently when they’re required to pay ~57k a year ($228,000 over four years)…

I guess… But my real question is can I get into one of those colleges in California?

Nobody knows. You are not a shoein or anything. You didn’t even tell us how rigorous your classes are or your UC gpa. Unless you are recruited, the sports are just an EC. They look at your essays and letters of recommendation too. Also did you check if you have all the a to g requirements?
