My son is planning to apply to Purdue Honors college under Early Action. If he does not meet the criteria for Honors collge , will he still be considered for regular Purdue admission under Early Action?
Unless something has drastically changed in 2 years, and the Honors College web site doesn’t indicate that it has, HC admission is a secondary decision after admissions.
An EA application is considered for admission to Purdue. If a student is admitted, that notification will be received by January 15. If that student has indicated an interest in HC, a second decision will be then made for that acceptance. The HC decision will be received in February.
So yes, every student applying under EA will receive a decision on the EA timeline, regardless of the (later) decision on HC.
RichinPitt is correct. The HC application is a separate application. Your student will apply EA to Purdue and then do the secondary application for Honors College. You will find out the HC decision a few weeks after the admission decision.
