That desire passes over time.

i guess so...after i wrote that i was like "whatever with them..."

i dont know....i am weird right now...happy, sad...weird...just weird...but then again, i am a girl :P

Life has a way of surprising us in the most profound ways:)

yeah...lol

plz surprise me with an acceptance letter life..or else!! haha i kid i kid :P

True, nspeds. :D (I think I overuse this smiley)

owlgirl, love and prayers from me that you'll get accepted. I think you "need" it more than I do.. you only applied to a few colleges, so I really hope you get a chance to do the things you've always wanted to do.

why do you think i "need" to go to rice? sure i am crazy about that school and sure i only applied to two school [one is my safety] but i dont know if i need to go to rice..a lot of people on here have better stats than i do and maybe they want to go to rice more than i do...well, hopefully the adcom people will like me :)

I like your attitude.

thank you...err are you an adcom person?? :P lol playing

why do you like my attitude? i am just being me :)
^^^ answer that question...i am always curious at what you have to say...answer in detail if you like :)

Send me a private message regarding this. I would rather not detract from the purpose of this forum by inserting my insignificent opinions.

hahah...ok....but i do that all the time....

"one score below 650 is not going to kill you. it's when you have 6 scores below 650 that it might be a little trying on the admissions officers. However, one can always save himself quite easily. For example, say for some reason you made a 550 on the sat ii math iic. However, you managed a 5 on both the Calculus BC and/or AB exam. Clearly, you have reached a standard in math taht few high school students reach and therefore, POSSIBLY your sat ii scores will be overlooked. This works for all subjects. There are ways around the "standard" sat test scores. All one needs is drive."

So do sat ii writing make up for sat verbal?

I think so ecnerwalc

i got accepted and i had an SAT I and II score under 650

what is your score?

JDog,

Can you post your stats please?

jdog, so what do you think got you in (subjectively speaking)?

sati 1400 (620v, 790m)
satii 770, 700, 640 (mathii, chem, writ)
act 32
gpa 4.66
2/360 at the time i applied (currently tied for 1st in class)
president of science honor society
in a bunch of other societies
marching band all 4 year
2 spots each year
played piano for 13 years - played at carnegie hall
-i probably got in because i wrote a real good essay about playing the piano at carnegie hall, which overshadowed my low verbal/writing scores and probably set me apart from other people

sorry, typo, only 780 on sati math

JDog,

I think the Carnegie Hall performance set you apart from other applicants, and did offset the SAT scores, which are not that low. Nevertheless, if one scores below a 650, one must have other significantly outweighing factors in order to be accepted into Rice.
