My son got word a couple of days ago about his acceptance! Anyone else hear? I think the chances of his going will be slim, but I did experience a great deal of deja vu looking at that fat envelope . . .I appled Early Decision to Sewanee a million years ago, and was so happy to see that letter then!

Congratulations - excellent news! Sounds like there's going to be some tough decisions ahead. (I'll be in this position next year with daughter)

Fireflyscout,

I am looking forward to hearing what you and your daughter are doing to gather your info and impressions about colleges. Impressions are SO unique to the person, as I was especially struck by when reading the thread about "which colleges do you wish you had liked"! The thing about Sewanee is that people really fall in love with it when the fit is right, but for some the rural aspect is difficult. I did not find that to be a problem at all. There is so much to do if you like the outdoors, or, as was the case for me, if you liked the library! I still frequent that library, and recently found that, as an alum, I do not get library fines! Just nice little email reminders!

Take care!
