I understand that AP scores are not supposed to hurt an applicant, as they are not required; however, will an AP score of a 4 on any exam be "bad" for someone applying to say, Northwestern or Cornell? Should I not report any 4's I got this year?

Always report the 4. Well, maybe if you got a 4 in your intended major, like a 4 in APUSH and you want to be a history major...But, I'd say report the 4. I reported a 3 (rofl) and still got into several Ivies.

not bad at all, but since they're not 5's they will probably neither hurt nor help you

Or you could realize that AP scores have NO effect on admissions, and just leave them off.

i have a question. wouldn't colleges rather pick people who got a 3 or 4 instead of the 5 so the student would still have to take that class and still pay for it?

the reputation of a college is more important than its annual revenue.

No, I'm sure they'd rather pick people with 5's and 4's... I got 5's in my intended major... does this mean I should report my 4's then?
