Nice scores. It does make a difference whether you took AP Stat, AP Calc AB, or AP Calc BC (all AP math classes), and which AP science exams you took, and what varsity sport you played, what kind of volunteering you did... etc.

In short, be a little more specific!

Also, if you're currently a senior, how are you "expecting to take 2-3 APs sr year"?

i was referring to AP exams, but i've taken Calc BC/stats/chem/bio/physics c: mechanics

so can you tell me my chances?

You have an excellent chance. I got in Early Decision and my stats were somewhat worse.

feedback please.

bump bump as

I realize that this is a boring, old topic, but if there is anyone with any insights on my chances, i would greatly appreciate if you were to leave a comment or two.

Thank You.

I am a new user.. not sure if i'm where i need to be to get the answer to this but, im a junior in hs (montgomery county, md if anyones heard of it)

trying to figure out my chances at places like u wisconsin, u mich, nyu, gw etc

i really messed up freshman year (was in dc public school system) and got 2.75 that yr

soph yr i got a 3.5 uw 4.0 w but my fresh yr is bringing my cum down to like a 3.1. my uw gpa for 1st sem was a 3.5, 4.0 weighted. 2nd sem should be same or a bit higher...

not sure about my sat scores, taking them in march.....

can anyone tell me my chances?

also-

im currently taking the hardest course load possible (in specialized program w/in the school)
am an under-represented minority
have had to get over significant hardships, economically and otherwise...

likely 1 2 3 4 5 quite unlikely
BROWN 4
U.CHICAGO 4
NORTHWESTERN 3
MIT 5
STANFORD 5
NYU(STERN) 4

BROWN - OK chance
U.CHICAGO - decent chance (with good essay)
NORTHWESTERN - decent chance
MIT - slim chance
STANFORD-slim chance
NYU(STERN) - OK chance

um, all i can say is the prior posts were somewhat vague and I still don't truly understand where my chances lie. It appears that Stern & Brown are "likely rejects" and stanfrod/mit is a VERY Certain reject, NWU is my only "good chance?"

Its quite hard to get feedback on these threads. Maybe I should try in the peak hours of college confidential or something.

Your GPA and ECs are a little weak for the hypercompetitive schools (MIT and Stanford). The Brown admissions office is strange: their average stats of admits aren't sky-high, but they refuse a lot of great candidates. They seem to be looking for diverse candidates, athletes, etc. I think you have good chances at Chicago if your essays and English grades were good. Would have thought your profile was plenty good for NYU -- Stern may be especially selective, though.

Ah Ok, i understand. Good feedback, greennblue.

I would like for someone to give me some more insight on Brown, seeing as to how that is currently my number 1 choice. As for U.Chicago, my essay was good, not "Whoa this essay is one of a kind"
My english grades have been as follows (Freshman: A-, Sophomore: B-, Junior: B, Senior: So Far, B+ (avg of 1st & 2nd MP))
insight on Brown, U.Chicago, NYU(Stern) needed and appreciated

read above comment

feedback helps.

hm. it would seem gpa is your main concern here with brown. but there should be other ways to make up for that

that sorta helped...anyone else?

feedback please
