As all of us chew our fingernails down to the bone during these last hours of the BIG WAIT, most schools have given us a fairly good idea of when we'll hear something from them. And this notification process has been mentioned for nearly every BS... Except St. Mark's! Granted, it's a smaller school and not as frequently discussed as some of the other bigger names here. But still, an awesome school and one that gets mentioned by many respected posters here. But for some reason, it didn't make the list, currently posted in the "When/ How Schools will Notify" thread.

I did call the school but got a recorded message, telling me the school is on spring break and to only call the school administration if there is an emergency. I've checked the school's website and social media pages but no answers there either. (At least, as of this morning). And of course, I've scoured the pages of the CC forums...still NOTHING. Maybe I've looked too hard and missed a simple announcement somewhere?

I can't be the ONLY person who is curious about this...so if there's anyone out there who could shed some light here-(whether you're a current student, former student, a SM parent, admissions insider, whatever), please, post! And feel free to reply to this thread but please also post on the main "how/ when schools notify" thread, so anyone else who might be wondering can also see it.

Specific info about: WHEN St. Mark's School sends out their acceptance letters, HOW they will notify students (email/ US mail/ Fed Ex) and whether they plan to notify all applicants by March 10, regardless of their acceptance status.

Thanks, in advance, to anyone who can help answer these questions and ease some nerves here! And Best of Luck to EVERYONE this weekend!!!!!!!

“Letters of decision will be mailed on March 10, and your reply is expected by April 10. The admission re-visit days are yet to be scheduled for 2013. Please check back later.”

Keep in mind, M10 is a Sunday, so letters will either be mailed out tomorrow or Monday.

Thanks gh!! Funny, when I did a search on their site, all I found was a page that referred to last year’s notifications. From the wording they used, sounds like this may have just been posted.

Ironically, when I searched for info on revisit days, I did find answers rather easily. Despite their website stating that the 2013 Revisit dates were still undecided, it seems that they’re readily available now. Below is a portion of the 2013 Revisit letter SM’s sends out to the students who are accepted for the 2013-2014 school year. I found it a few days ago, by simply Googling “St. Mark’s 2013 Revisit Days.” There’s even a preliminary schedule of events that follows. Again, I did NOT receive this- it’s NOT an early acceptance or anything. Just found it doing an online search for revisit dates.

See below for a portion of it:

"GO LIONS! Congratulations on your acceptance to St. Mark’s!

We would love to have you join us for a Revisit Day. Enjoy a class visit for students and parents, an all school meeting for students, faculty and student presentations, student performances, lunch, and afternoon sports on campus. DATES: Wednesday, April 3rd 2013 and Saturday, April 6th 2013"

Goforprep, I checked our old family emails. Four years ago, my kid received an email from St. Mark’s on March 10th. I think it landed first in our spam folder. The same email was sent to the child and the parents.

Four years later, I don’t think they’d revert to snail mail only. The admissions package arrived in the mail (four years ago) on the 10th. I don’t know if the email would be sent on the 9th, 10th, or 11th, though, as the 10th falls on a Sunday, and the school is on break. So, if you don’t receive an email tomorrow (and I hope you do!), check your spam filter. And your child’s spam filter. Good luck!

Thank you so much for your reply! That does shed some light on what we might expect this weekend. Just knowing that there could be an email is a great piece of info I hadn’t heard yet.

Crossing our fingers and toes for good news! Thanks again for your encouragement and advice on St. Mark’s, throughout this whole adventure. Our"apply" list was small and filled only with schools we really loved after the visits, so no matter what the outcome, our family has no regrets about any of this. Best of luck to your family with the college app process, too, Periwinkle!
