Hi guys. I am an IB student with 34 predicted score (6 in Higher level Business and Management), coming from Thailand but I am Canadian. I applied to UTSC in January and had my application complete on the same day. I would like to know what do you guys think if I have any chances. Thanks and I wish everyone good luck. @bouders
@123bob123 Which program? Which math are you taking? What other subjects are you taking? Do you have any standardized test results? A predicted IB score is only as good as the teachers making the prediction. There are IB schools where predicted results are grossly inflated over the actual results.
That having been said, you should be fine to get into most UTSC programs with a predicted 34. There should be a wave of results coming out this week.
Thanks for your response. The course that I applied is Management and International Business (Co-op). Mathematics SL, English A HL, Geography HL, Spanish ab, Business Management and Sports science. No SAT or any other tests that I took and I got a good range of extracurriculars(all relevant to my program) and decent essays. @bouders
@123bob123 You should be OK with those courses and program. I asked about math in particular because math studies doesn’t qualify for many programs including Management and International Business. The higher your math and English predicted grades are, the better your chances will be. If you do get admitted, make sure you keep up your math and English grades.
Thanks very much. I have been reading all your posts and I wanna say that you help a lot of the people here because it is really stressful. @bouders
Gosh, thanks @123bob123. It’s nice to be appreciated. Best of luck to you.
Hey, @bouders. I got into Western Ontario a week ago and they told me to accept the offer by April 18th. I haven’t received a decision from UofT> I applied on Feb 1 and my application was complete Feb 14. I want to ask for advice in case I don’t hear anything from UofT until April 18th. If I don’t get an offer or decision the before April 18 should I consider it as a rejection, and accept UWO? Also, when do you think the big wave is? Thanks.
My sources tell me the big wave should be starting any minute now and will be done by April 5. If you don’t hear before April 18, I would consider it a rejection. If you do get an acceptance after accepting Western, you could always tell Western you’ve changed your mind and then accept U of T.
Do you know if I get informed by email or should I keep checking the join UofT portal?

The portal will have the answer before you get an email. @123bob123
Hey, @bouders. I hope you are doing well. I am just worried a little bit because some people say that the second round is mainly over and only a little are left to send out offers. Do you think is it over? You are one of the most reliable and that’s why I am asking you. Thanks.
@bouders please reply.
@123bob123 I don’t think it’s over, but I don’t have special knowledge of it.
What are my chances for UTSG Engineering? I have straight A’s except english (82%) SAT score 1490, AP Calculus AB(5), AP Physics 1(4), SAT Math 2 (800), and SAT Physics (740)

Hey, @bouders. I hope you are doing well. Today morning I got an email saying “congratulations - you have been selected for an admissions interview”. Is that good? can I assume anything? Do you think I won’t get an admissions decision this round? thanks.
@123bob123 That is a good sign! Don’t assume anything though. Dress neatly. Be well groomed. One of the main things they are looking for is the ability to speak English fluently. Try not to be nervous. I tell my kids to imagine the interviewer as your new best friend. Smile and be outgoing. Answer in full sentences and expand on your thoughts.
UTSC has a different timeline than UTSG. An acceptance can come at any time after the interview.
Thanks for your response. Do you know if I accept Western’s offer will still be considered for U of T or OUAC will just cancel all my applications? @bouders
