Recalculate your GPA using the UC GPA formula. Your athletic ECs are impressive however I think your GPA and SAT test score may reduce your chances at the top-tier UCs and BU. I’m not sure about Syracuse. Click on the link below, go to “Custom Tables”, answer a few questions, and enter up to 3 “mean characteristics” at a time to see what your admit rate chances are for someone with your profile:

I’m guessing a safe bet for UCR and UCM (not currently on your list), possibly UCSC, big maybe for UCSB and UCI. A strong SAT score and ECs will make up for some of the GPA-- but it’s still a key component to your application.

Use the Statfinder link I provided. It’s a really good tool once you start playing around with it!

I don’t think raising your SAT score will help you much for UCB and UCLA. Your GPA really hurts you there. For kicks, why don’t you plug in higher test scores into Statfinder and see what happens? I’m guessing, unless you significantly increase your GPA (which is impossible to do at this stage of your HS career), your admittance into to top-tier UCs are long shots. Having said that, you can help your cause by having an UPWARD trend this semester when you send in your mid-year reports. Schools WILL take notice if you have a nice upward trend in the first semester of your senior year.

What UCs would I be able to get into. UCLA and UCB are kinda like really dream schools, but would i get into with what I have. Also I am taking 8 classes my senior year, would that help in the UC process?
