Admissions Chances

Okay so UT is my first choice school and I was wondering if I even have a chance of being admitted.

I'm a senior in high school. I'm top 8 or 9% and have a 4.6 weighted GPA. I volunteer at the hospital 2-4 hrs a week, and I currently have a job. I'm in 3 clubs at my school, and I am swim manager. I take all AP classes and I played lacrosse freshman year. I got a 2120 on my SAT and my essays are so-so.

Do I even have a chance of being accepted?

I’m pretty sure you have very good probabilities of getting accepted with that gpa, some programs are more competitive than others but you deff have have a chance of getting in. Good luck with that.

Thanks for your input!

Not a problem  just don’t forget to submit all your applications on time :)

@TEXASstude - Are you going to be a senior, class of 2014? Admissions will also be based on what your major is. If it is business or engineering then it gets a little tough. Your class rank is good and your scores are pretty good. Turn in an great essay and you should have a shot.

@kldat1 yes I’m class of 2014. If I wanted to major in biology or possibly neuroscience, do you think it’ll be more or less competitive than engineering or business?

neurobiology*

Oh forgot possibly biochemistry as well.
