March 15 is the last day likelies get sent out. There's still hope if you're an insane overachiever (and you are one of the 100 students they send the letters to). Otherwise, you only have two weeks left to find out, and things are going to get very exciting and nervewracking, as I recall. But try not to let it take over your life! No matter what happens, good things will come. You have all come a long way to even apply here, and so congratulations.

Can't wait to see all you prefrosh in April I'm hosting two and CANNOT WAIT to let them occupy my floor space. It's going to be great! :) Congrats to all admits and come to the best school around! :) If you guys have any last-minute questions, or just want to get your nerves out, feel free to go ahead! Me and the other 6700 students are always eager :)

A long time ago, I was in your place and now my child is applying. I’d feel this way even if my child was not applying to a very competitive school but just a small school that not too many people have heard of . It would just mean a lot to go back to the campus with my kid once again. I guess I am trying to explain that legacy is not about “unqualified people” taking the place of more qualified people, but about a generational and emotional connection that a family feels for a school, small or large, famous or relatively unknown.

Ahhh I have such faith that I’ll be accepted, but not (most likely not) receiving a likely letter unnecessarily leaves me in question. This is the point where even the most minor details (such as that grade in freshman math) buds my attention. Visiting campus was (in my interviewer’s words) like getting into the perfect new car… Harvard is the reason why I did not apply to any other Ivy league or prestigious private school such as Notre Dame. I WILL reapply next year if the admissions department forgoes me this year. I hope to see all of you next month! :)

That’s so cool that you’re hosting for Visitas! I’m attending and I’m really excited for the weekend! Do you know any details about what we’ll be doing?

There’ll be a massive magazine full of Visitas events in your admissions package. Virtually every extracurricular activity, club, and organization has at least one – if not twelve – events, and there’s a huge extracurricular activities fair. Of course, there is also plenty of opportunity to debauch, with lots of parties happening virtually nonstop. On Monday, you can audit/shop classes, and the whole weekend your host is available to show you around (or let you do your own thing).

It’s going to be great! Hope to see you, and congrats on your likely!

Hang in there. When my son got accepted early for the class of 2011, it was a Friday. A number of people he knew had heard one way or another right after 5 pm, but he didn’t get anything until almost 10. I don’t understand how the e-mail system works, but it was agony.

We are in Tx. S is still waiting for email… but one of his friend receive mail…he is waitlisted…
tried pass code on the admit student website… but it’s not working …
