Alright thanks Navy2010. I contacted admissions through this format, but I didn't get a response from them, and it has been about a week. I hope USNA will respond this time.

Here is the url for BGOs by state and zipcode. It is 2005-6 but is still listed on the usna website so hopefully is reasonably valid. Good luck!

Thanks... but.. admissions officers is what I need more.. West coast admissions officer. BGOs are good for contact, but I have to talk to the admissions officer.

Mister Sinister, Have you filled out a preliminary application? You can have future SAT scores sent to the Academy. You may get a candidate number with what you already have and keep updating it. I noticed you said that you have taken and passed the CFA. So I am not sure if you have already applied to the Academy or not.

I took the CFA at sls for usma. And.. no I haven't filled out a preliminary application yet because quite frankly... I'm not sure what will happen. I might consider doing it though sometime this week.

^^^^ well I can guarentee you 100% that NOTHING will happen unless you MAKE it happen.....

so unless you submitt that peliminary application, quite frankly, I don't understand the "need" to talk to an "admissions director".....
first things first!

lets be realistic -
the USNA receives, on average, 12000+ inquiries to "open files" for potential candidates...... that usually translates to 10000+ peliminary applications....
so already the "field" is narrowed down to "who really wants this"....

Out of those 10,000+ PA's, only about 6000 or so that are deemed "candidates" will actually "complete" their application..... if you are one of those, your "odds" just increased!

but your odds will remain at "absolute zero" if you continue to do nothing... of that I am 100% POSITIVELY SURE!!!!

So procrastinators beware....

"i might consider doing it sometime" whatever..... does not ring true to these ears with "motivated, motivated, down right motivated Ma'am!" kind of attitude that is needed if one is to be successful with this process!
Hmmm....
are you really sure you want this?????

I would venture to say this might explain why you have not received a response from the admissions office.... no doubt they are being bombarded with questions from those that have taken the "first step" (ie: peliminary application)....

:) rothfl! I was thinking the same. It's a 100% lock that absolutely zilch will happen in absence of the preliminary application.

And your counsel re: "procrastinators beware ... " is on the $. I continually put forth that THE single most important component of successfully seeking an appointment is recognizing the dynamic of rolling admission (vs. traditional "early decision" or common notification/reply admission) and that sooner is ALWAYS better than later. Usually MUCH better. As time rolls by, spots are filled up, and future admission increasingly becomes more and more competitive as spaces become fewer and fewer.

I'm suspiscious that there is some chain pulling going on here.

AFTER my daughter completed her preliminary application, she received the letter with the following statement. It followed instructions for accessing her online account on teh Candidate Information System:

"Also located on this website are the names of your USNA Regional Director, who serves as your admissions counselor, and your Blue and Gold Officer".

I had assumed you already completed the preliminary application.

If I read your posts correctly (reffering to Mr sinister)- then I am assuming you are further along in the process for USMA- which does differ (a bit) from the process for USNA.....

if that is the case, best of luck-
but if you are taking a hard look at USNA, I would suggest shifting things into high gear about now- "you never know"....
