Admissions Decision Question

I applied online with my essay and everything August 31st.

However, I had to update my resume in an email to show that I'm now a National Achievement Semi-Finalist. Also, I have recently taken the SAT again and those scores won't be received by FSU until tomorrow.

Do I still count as having applied by October 14th? I'm going to kill myself if I find out that they won't tell me my admission decision until March...

Yes. I took the October SAT, and it counted towards the early admission (or whatever it’s called).

To be sure, log in to the admissions portal, check your status, and under admission decision, it should say the date it will be released.

Ah, thanks! I can’t believe I forgot about that.

Yes yes yes. As long as you took an SAT and had any results reported by Oct 14, they will consider your file with the early decision period and update your scores with Oct results.

I would email admissions to be sure they KNOW that you retook the SAT, and once results are available online to students, they are usually in the process of reporting them ELECTRONICALLY to FSU. Watch the admission portal and if your scores don’t update call them. We found the admissions page to be updated regularly. They will take the highest scores for each section from any test date

Will do. It wasn’t updated today, but they include the writing score in there and we don’t find out our writing scores until November 3rd, so I guess that’s when FSU and the other colleges will get our information.

I was able to see the writing score later in the afternoon yesterday. Check again.

I can see the writing score of 580 (shh… the others are near 700), but I can’t see the essay score.

Can schools tell who is a National Achievement Semi-finalist, or do you have to tell them?

You should tell them. I called a few weeks ago (a month after I’d been named a semi-finalist) and they didn’t have it in my record, so I was told to let them know via email.
