On UConn’s website, it says that decisions will be released starting March 1st, however I’ve read other discussions and many people said that they heard in early-mid February. For the people who did say they heard in mid-early Feb, do you know if UConn’s website said the same thing about a March 1st release date, and decisions were released early, or is it new to this year?
It said same thing last year. Decisions will be mailed mid February and after that if history is any guide. They say that to cover themselves. I am paying close attention because I have applied there too.
My theory is that they wait for a mid year report/transcript to finalize decisions and then they start sending them out
Two years ago my son heard on Feb 8th.
Did the status on the Uconn website change when he checked his status a day or 2 before he heard? My daughter’s status has said ‘check back here for a decision’ for months…just wondering if there is a clue or sign that they are about to post a decision.
@TLD1267 I don’t know. If I remember correctly, I think we only checked his status because people on CC were posting that they had gotten decisions.
@TLD1267 yeah, it’s said that on mine since I applied in October. I may or may not check way too often because of it. Hoping for early February like ^
The official application date on mine is 10-10….when I look at the threads from the past 2 years decisions started to come out early February…so I too am hoping for early February…but it seems there is no warning. Penn State changes the status 1-2 days prior to a decision and the new status states… a decision will be posted shortly.
@TLD1267 Yeah, I noticed that. Penn state did that for me, too. Unfortunately I’ve never seen anything that leads me to believe UCONN does the same. I personally think they need to have early action or rolling admission. It seems strange to have neither, but what can you do.
I have seen some decisions posted on twitter…
I think the people who got accepted already didn’t apply to the main campus
Some said branch campuses…but at least 1 said main.
If it helps, I am a UConn professional school alumni. As such, I called admissions through the alumni office. A very pleasant gentleman told me that applications were being evaluated as they came in and that the first batch of acceptances/denials would be out the first week of February.
@ husky96…Thank you …that was very kind of you!
Fingers crossed for first week of February guys
I’m really hoping most acceptances come out in February, iv’e read past threads and some had to wait all the way till late March even April.
Saw another acceptance on Twitter…for Storrs.
One of my friend’s kids just got their acceptance letter today for Storrs campus.
What Major? When did they get their app in? If you know…
The student I know got into Fine Arts and I think he applied early to mid November.
